KARACHI: The price of petroleum products is likely to increase by Rs 5.50, sources in oil marketing companies (OMCs) said on Wednesday.
The federal government will announce the new prices on November 15, in two days, and the new rates will come into effect the next day.
Informed sources Geo News that the price of petrol may increase by Rs 2.58 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs 5.50 per liter and kerosene by Rs 2.58 also.

Gasoline is mainly used in private transport, small vehicles, rickshaws and two-wheelers, and if prices increase, it will significantly strain the budgets of the middle and lower classes.
In contrast, the majority of the transportation sector relies on HSD. This fuel powers heavy transport vehicles, agricultural machinery and other essential means of transport, directly influencing the prices of essential products like vegetables and groceries.
In the previous fortnightly review, the federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs 1.35 per liter and diesel by Rs 3.85 per liter compared to market expectations.
