Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence’s eyes return, won’t rule out surgery – Blogging Sole

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Trevor Laurent does not rule out undergoing surgery on his left shoulder before the end of the season, but the Jacksonville Jaguars The quarterback is also adamant that he wants to get back on the field as soon as possible.

It looks like the latter could happen on Sunday against the Houston Texans at EverBank Stadium if the rest of the week goes well when Lawrence returns to practice.

“I think (the AC joint sprain) has been a pretty difficult thing to evaluate, honestly, what’s the best path forward,” Lawrence said Wednesday. “(Surgery is) definitely something I’m considering and not out of the question at all. This is something that we’re going to have to really (address) day by day, week by week.

“Hopefully I can go back this week or as soon as possible and then it’ll just be every week to evaluate him, see where he’s at. Obviously so far I’ve done everything I can to avoid this and I want to be back with my guys and finish the season. So that’s my goal.

Lawrence was injured in the first half of the Jaguars’ loss at Philadelphia on Nov. 3, but didn’t miss a beat and nearly led Jacksonville to a come-from-behind victory until he threw a interception in the end zone with 1:38 left.

Lawrence has missed the Jaguars’ last two games. Behind the backup quarterback MacJonesthe Jaguars passed for just 313 total yards and scored a combined 13 points in losses to Minnesota and Detroit.

Lawrence returned to practice Monday for the first time since Nov. 8, and coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday that Lawrence’s shoulder responded well.

Lawrence was going to get the majority of first-team reps in Wednesday afternoon’s practice, and Pederson called it an encouraging sign for Lawrence to play against the Texans.

“Obviously I’m not going to commit, but it was a good start to the week,” Pederson said.

Lawrence, who completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 2,004 yards and 11 touchdowns with six interceptions, said his shoulder feels the best since his injury, but he wants to see how it feels later in the week before to plead to play. .

“I’m preparing to play and I’m preparing like I normally would to play a full game and go there so that if it happens, or when it happens, I’ll be ready to go,” Lawrence said. “But also, if that doesn’t happen, you want to make sure that if Mac wants to play, he’ll have some reps and be prepared as well.

“I think there’s a lot to consider, but I’m definitely going to take it in every day and see how I feel and obviously talk to our staff and see how it progresses. But I feel better than I have in recent weeks .
