The Indiana Pacers will face the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena. The Pacers are undoubtedly hoping to end a series of six consecutive defeats on the road.
The Pacers head into Tuesday’s contest having posted an impressive 244.5 points over/under odds set for their last game against the Grizzlies. Sunday’s Pacers-Grizzlies game wasn’t a total blowout, but with the Pacers falling 136-121 on the road, it was damn close to turning into one. The loss hurt even more as Indiana led 47-28 with 10:11 left in the second.
Meanwhile, the Raptors recorded their closest victory since November 2 on Sunday. They prevailed in a close game against the Heat, outscoring 119-116.
RJ Barrett was nothing short of spectacular: he went 15 of 20 en route to 37 points plus seven rebounds and five assists. He’s heading in the right direction considering he’s improved his point production for four straight games.
The Raptors worked as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists. This strong performance was nothing new for the team: they have now recorded at least 26 assists in four consecutive matchups.
Indiana’s loss dropped its record to 9-12. As for Toronto, their victory improved their record to 6-15.
Looking ahead, the Pacers should win a close contest, except for the buzzers. This contest may not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they have let bettors down the last eight times they have played.
The Pacers fell short against the Raptors in the teams’ last game two weeks ago, losing 130-119. Can the Pacers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll know soon enough.
