ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday congratulated the nation for the decline in the weekly inflation rate to 3.57 per cent, marking its lowest level in the last six years.
The Prime Minister issued a statement reiterating the Federal Government’s commitment to taking steps to turn around the economy.
“Thanks to Allah Almighty and the efforts of the economic team, inflation has fallen to its lowest level in the last six years,” Prime Minister Shehbaz said.
Since October 4, 2018, the price index was recorded at its lowest level today, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement quoting the Prime Minister.
Compared to the same corresponding period last year, inflation decreased significantly by 39.11% this week, a result of the hard work of the economic team, adding that it remained committed to all the promises that he had done to the people.
“I had sworn to work day and night to alleviate the difficulties of the population. As a servant of Pakistan, I remain faithful to all the promises I have made,” the Prime Minister further asserted.
The Prime Minister stressed that they were taking steps to create jobs, promote industrial growth and increase foreign investment.
Prime Minister Shehbaz, in the statement, said the country was progressing rapidly after achieving economic stability. He added that increasing remittances, increasing investments from friendly countries and strengthening diplomatic relations reflected Pakistan’s journey towards development.
The Prime Minister felt that their political sacrifices for the development and prosperity of the country had not been in vain as all stakeholders were playing their positive role in this journey of progress and prosperity.
