- CM Gandapur says KP is always at the forefront in every movement.
- “The PTI supporters always increased every time I went to Islamabad.”
- The nation will never forget what PTI workers did on May 9: Tarar.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was waiting for “clear instructions” from the jailed party founder Imran Khan regarding the civil disobedience movement and that ” whatever he (PTI founder) decides, we would do it.” implemented in the same spirit.
Earlier this month, the incarcerated PTI founder warned the government to launch a “civil disobedience” movement if its demands, including a judicial investigation into the crackdown on party supporters, were not satisfied.
“There is no clarity so far,” Gandapur said while speaking to reporters in Peshawar today, adding that it was not he who announced the civil disobedience movement but the founder of the PTI.
He said that after receiving “clear instructions”, the party would consider options on what needs to be done to launch the movement.
The firebrand chief minister said, “KP is always at the forefront whenever any movement is launched. » He added that we still did not know where to initiate the movement and what its phases would be.
The Gandapur declaration comes just a day before the civil disobedience movement announced by the imprisoned Khan for Monday, December 16 (tomorrow).
Speaking to
The committee, he said, would negotiate with the federal government on two points: the release of “political prisoners” to be tried and the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and a nighttime repression against the PTI. demonstrators on November 26.
“If these two demands are not accepted, a civil disobedience movement will be launched from December 14,” declared the imprisoned former Prime Minister, adding that the government would be responsible for the results of this movement. Later, the party founded by Imran Khan extended the date of civil disobedience to December 16.
Gandapur has rejected the impression created by the federal government of a decline in popularity of the former ruling party following the abrupt end to its “final call” for protest last month.
The KP chief executive, who led the PTI protests in Islamabad, claimed that the party’s supporters had always increased whenever he visited the federal capital (to protest).
Referring to the crackdown on PTI leaders and supporters, he added that some people were “not coming forward because of fear”.
Why Gandapur and Bushra left PTI protesters alone, asks Tarar
Reacting to the Gandapur statement, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said the former ruling party was still indulging in protests and sit-ins as the party did not have any positive or constructive agenda .
Speaking to the media today, Tarar said the series of incitements, threats and accusations was the style of the PTI leadership. He said it was important to inform the nation of the facts regarding the KP CM’s baseless allegations.
The Gandapur allegations were based on lies and concoctions, he said, adding that now foreign media were being invited to KP to feed them misleading information.
The facts must be known to the public and wrongdoing and anti-nationalism must be denounced, he noted.
He said Gandapur had claimed that the next call would not be peaceful, but the question arises as to which of their past calls were peaceful. He said that on November 26, they invaded the capital with AK-47 rifles, tear gas shells, grenades and slingshots.
“The PTI first faked 1,200 dead bodies and spread fake AI-generated images on social media. If they were telling the truth, their leaders would not have received figures ranging from 12 to 1,200 dead” , he added.
Tarar said Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, had misled and incited workers through her speech. He asked why Gandapur and Bushra fled, leaving their workers alone at D-Chowk.
About Gandapur, Tarar said he was a political and administrative failure who failed to manage the affairs of the province as chief minister.
The minister said the nation will never forget what PTI workers did on May 9 and all those involved in the arson and violence must be brought to justice.
The audio of PTI workers abusing Gandapur was also available, he said, adding that they also threw stones and plastic bottles on Gandapur which showed what kind of politics they were indulging in.
Tarar said the KP chief minister was a political failure and his future call for protest would prove to be a disaster. He said the PTI wanted to drag the armed forces into politics while the army top brass refused to support it.
He said only three or four journalists were on the list, the rest being PTI political activists who had incited people to violence. Strongly condemning this news, he urged the media to carry out responsible journalism.
