RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to activate the joint task force at the earliest for public safety, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
This development took place today during the visit of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to Saudi Arabia’s Safe City Center and Public Security Police Headquarters in Riyadh, where he was welcomed by Public Security Chief Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami.
Naqvi toured different departments of the state-of-the-art public security headquarters.
Looking at the system with modern technology to prevent crimes, he appreciated the system of controlling crimes and road accidents through the use of modern technology.
During his meeting with Al-Bassami, the minister said he was happy to see Saudi Arabia’s excellent public security system.
He added that both sides can benefit from each other’s experience by strengthening cooperation in the field of police training. He pointed out that Pakistan was establishing a special protection unit for the protection of diplomats.
The minister had a special briefing at the public security headquarters. He was informed during the briefing that a system has been developed to control crimes and road accidents using artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, Naqvi also held a meeting with Saudi Minister of State for Interior Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Battal, during which issues of mutual interest and Pak-Saudi relations were discussed.
During the meeting, Battal said the two countries enjoyed “very close and cordial relations.” He expressed hope that ties between the two countries would be further strengthened after Naqvi’s meetings with Saudi officials.
Furthermore, Naqvi congratulated the Saudi leadership and people for securing the hosting rights for the 2034 FIFA World Cup and expressed his best wishes for the event.
The Interior Minister said that Saudi Arabia has always shown immense love and sincerity towards Pakistan. He also appreciated Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s Vision 2030, which paves the way for progress and prosperity.
