KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday announced that all banks and financial institutions will remain closed for public transactions on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday), which will be considered as a ‘public holiday’.
In a statement, the central bank said development finance institutions (DFIs) and microfinance banks (MFBs) would also remain closed on the first day of the new year.
However, the SBP further clarified that all employees of banks, DFIs and MFBs will report to their offices as usual on New Year’s Eve.
