LONDON:
Urfan Sharif, 43, who murdered his 10-year-old British-Pakistani daughter, Sara Sharif, in a high-profile case that sparked public disgust, was attacked in prison,
British officials and media said this on Friday.
Sharif suffered cuts to his neck and face and received medical treatment inside the prison after
was attacked with the sharp lid of a can of tuna, the newspaper adds.
A Prison Service spokesperson said police were “investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Belmarsh on January 1”.
A London Metropolitan Police spokesperson said “a 43-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.”
