3rd quarter report
Down three at the end of the second quarter, the Heat now took the lead. Sitting on a score of 78-68, they appear to be the better team, but there is still a quarter to play.
The Heat entered the competition with added motivation after the loss they suffered the last time these two teams met. We’ll see if they are able to flip the script or if it will just be more of the same.

What you need to know
After playing yesterday, the Sacramento Kings will return to it and host the Miami Heat at 10 p.m. ET on Monday at Golden 1 Center. After coming off a win as an underdog, the Kings will come in as favorites.
The Heat hope to do what the Warriors couldn’t do on Sunday: end the Kings’ winning streak, which now stands at four games. The Kings were clearly victorious by a margin of 129-99 against the Warriors. The match was decided at halftime, when the score was already 75-51.
The Kings’ success was led by the efforts of Malik Monk, who shot 5-for-8 from long range and had a double-double with 26 points and 12 assists, and Domantas Sabonis, who had a double- double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Sabonis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he has now lost ten or more in the last 13 games he has played.
The Kings worked as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. They easily outscored their opponents in this department as the Warriors only posted 22.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored the Heat last Saturday, but not the final result. It will take them some time to recover from the 136-100 bruises inflicted by the Jazz on Saturday. Miami was in a tough spot after the first half, already up 62-41.
Sacramento’s victory improved its record to 17-19. As for Miami, this is the second defeat in a row for them and drops their season record to 17-16.
The Kings won a game that couldn’t have been closer in their previous meeting in November 2024, edging past the Heat 111-110. Do the Kings have another win up their sleeve, or will the Heat turn things around? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
