The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Higher Education Department has decided to implement a ranking system in all universities and colleges.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi, during which detailed information was given on the criteria for ranking universities and colleges.
The main goal of this ranking system is to provide students with better access to quality education. Minister Afridi stressed that the introduction of this system will significantly improve educational standards in the region.
She asked the relevant authorities to collect data for the last three years in order to rank institutions based on their performance.
Previously, despite the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s focus on education and health, millions of children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) remain out of school, especially in tribal districts where l Girls’ education is often neglected.
Issues such as lack of functioning schools due to terrorism or natural disasters further compound the problem.
Although the education budget has increased, KP continues to face financial difficulties in schools and universities, with teachers protesting for better conditions.
Experts highlight the need to improve infrastructure and reform infrastructure to ensure access to quality education for all children, especially girls.
Despite the increase in budget allocations, the government’s commitment to solving the education crisis remains in question.
