The Sindh Health Department has issued directives to all health workers in the district to take immediate action following a rise in Covid-19 and H1N1 influenza cases across the province, Express News reported.

According to the directive of the Director General of Health Services, all health centers must ensure strict surveillance of cases to enable early detection and prompt treatment. Suspected and confirmed cases should be reported immediately.

Hospitals have been tasked with ensuring the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical staff to prevent infections. Additionally, public awareness campaigns will be launched to highlight the benefits of vaccination and encourage people to get vaccinated.

Public and private healthcare facilities have been tasked with implementing effective infection control measures to curb the spread of diseases. Authorities will also promote preventive measures such as wearing masks, hand hygiene and social distancing.

The directive highlights the importance of educating the public about the symptoms of Covid-19 and H1N1 to facilitate rapid medical intervention.

Health authorities will compile and submit weekly reports on case numbers and response measures to relevant institutions for continued assessment and immediate corrective action.

The Sindh Health Department has urged strict compliance with these measures to protect public health.
