The Grizzlies already have more points against the Hornets than they managed in total against the Timberwolves last Monday. The Grizzlies have a bit of a lead as they currently lead the Hornets 113-92.
The Grizzlies came into the game having won three straight and they are only a quarter back. Will they make it four, or will the Hornets step in and ruin it? We will know soon.

What you need to know
The Grizzlies will play the full four quarters on Wednesday, but they should be done well before that. They will host the Charlotte Hornets at 8 p.m. ET at FedExForum. Each of these teams will be fighting to maintain a three-game winning streak.
The Grizzlies will go into Monday’s contest hoping to continue their momentum: They proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 28), but on Monday they proved they can win close games, too. They prevailed in a close game against the Timberwolves, outscoring 108-106. Memphis trailed 53-37 with 2:16 left in the second quarter, but they still came back for a handy two-point victory.
The Grizzlies earned their victory thanks to several key players, but it was Desmond Bane up front who had 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Less helpful for the Grizzlies was Santi Aldama’s dreadful 0-7 three-point shooting.
Even though they won, the Grizzlies struggled to work together and finished the game with just 19 assists. They were demolished by their opponents in this department as the Timberwolves posted 25.
Meanwhile, the Hornets’ game on Monday was tied 55-55 at halftime, but luckily for them, it didn’t stay that way. They managed a 110-105 victory against the Mavericks.
Memphis has been on a roll lately: They’ve won four of their last five games, which has been a nice improvement to their 28-15 record this season. As for Charlotte, their victory improved their record to 11-28.
This competition is shaping up to be a blast: the Grizzlies have had no problem putting up the score this season, averaging 123.1 points per game (they are ranked first overall). It’s a different story for the Hornets, as they only have an average of 107.1. The only thing standing between the Grizzlies and another offensive beatdown is the Hornets. Will they be able to contain them?
The Grizzlies fell short against the Hornets in the teams’ last game in March 2024, losing 110-98. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We’ll know soon enough.

Oddsmakers had a good idea of the line for this one, as the game opened with the Grizzlies as 12.5-point favorites.
