The Joint Action Committee (Jac) announced Thursday that it would join Friday’s demonstrations (today) by Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists (PFUJ) against the last amendments to the law on the prevention of electronic crime ( PECA).
Despite the insurance consultations with the stakeholders, the federal government has bulldozer the controversial bill in the National Assembly, then approved it from the Senate in haste, which speaks of the volume of the government’s utensils and the bad intention , said that JAC -JAP – including PFUJ, PBA, CPNE, AEMEND and APNS.
The Government, nor the National Assembly and the Senate, did not make consultations with the stakeholders either, and the president did not meet journalists before establishing himself in the bill despite jac repeated , which was regrettable, they added.
JAC downright rejected the bill for modification and expressed his determination to set up a strong legal and public resistance against the law. The Committee had started to contact civil society, lawyer organizations and other stakeholders, said Jac. All Jacques journalists’ organizations are fully participating in the PFUJ demonstrations.
