The first military brass on Tuesday stressed the need to accelerate socio -economic development initiatives focused on people in Balutchistan, recognizing the urgency of countering exclusion stories from outside.
The chief of staff of the army (COAS), General Syed Asim Munnir, chaired the conference of commanders of the 267th body at the general seat (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The forum has undertaken a complete examination of the regional and internal security landscape, assessing the full spectrum of threats, said the army.
According to a press release published by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army media wing, the meeting promised to thwart the harmful conceptions of attorney abroad, which were trying to radicalize the young people of Balutchistan.
“No one will be authorized to disrupt peace in Balutchistan and the harmful conceptions of proxies sponsored abroad trying to induce and radicalize the young people of Balutchistan will be decisively thwarted with the unshakable support of the Balutchistan people”, declared the ISPR.
The meeting intervened only a few days after 18 soldiers were martyred, while fighting terrorists in the central district of Baloutchistan in Kalat. The security forces also killed 23 terrorists, who were trying to set up roadblocks in the district for their terrorist activities.
After the incident, the army chief visited Balutchistan on Saturday. Watching the operational preparation of all training courses, the head of the army stressed the importance of sustained mission training, increased military cooperation and the conduct of joint exercises in the conventional fields and to the fight against the terrorism.
By concluding the conference, General Asim Munnir reaffirmed that the military management remained fully aware of the multifaceted challenges with which the nation was confronted and was resolved in the filling of its constitutional responsibilities with the firm support of the proud people of Pakistan.
