Orebro, Sweden – Sweden Worse mass shot left at least 11 dead on Tuesday, including the shooter, and at least five seriously injured in an adult education center west of Stockholm. Jonas Claesson, regional director of health and medical services, said that two of the victims of shots were in intensive care on Wednesday. All victims are over 18, said officials. No other patient linked to the shooting was admitted to the Orebro university hospital overnight.
The school, called Risbergska Campus, offers primary and secondary education courses for adults aged 20 and more Swedish language courses for immigrants, vocational training and programs for people with intellectual disability. The school is on the outskirts of Orebro, about 125 miles west of Stockholm.
The Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer called the shooting “an event that shakes our whole society to his heart”. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Prime Minister Ulf KrisSson have ordered that flags are stolen from half of the staff at the Royal Palace and government buildings.
King and Queen Silvia were in Orebro and would visit the school district and attend a commemorative service in the city, said the palace. Kristersson and Strömmer would also be there. The football teams Degerfors If and Orebro Syrianska will wear black armbands in a pre-season match on Wednesday evening and will hold a minute of silence before kick-off, said Degerfors.
The shooting started on Tuesday afternoon after many students returned home after a national exam. The students sheltered in neighboring buildings and other parts of the school were evacuated after filming.

Eid Forest, local police chief, said that the big premises of the school meant that it took a long time for the police to search the campus to make sure there were no more victims. Police heard shots when they arrived and first thought they were dismissed, he said.
Eid Forest said six officers had been treated for smoke inhalation. There was no fire, he said, and the authorities did not immediately know what caused smoke.
Investigators will pass on Wednesday to seek information from witnesses and check any video of the attack. The police would not say if the shooter had several cannons.

Although armed violence in schools is very rare in Sweden, people have been injured or killed with other weapons such as knives or axes in several incidents in recent years.
