- The belief shared in Jesus unites Islam and Christianity: Bilawal.
The president of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, stressed the need to strengthen public ties between Pakistan and the United States, saying that religion is a unifying rather than divided force.
Addressing the media after attending the national prayer breakfast in Washington, Bilawal described the event as an excellent opportunity for the interfait Harmony.
He noted the presence of US President Donald Trump, who delivered a speech, and stressed that people around the world met during the event.
Bilawal himself approached the closing ceremony, where he underlined the power of faith to bring people together.
Thinking about his own journey of faith during the ceremony, Bilawal said: “Everyone has their own trip of faith, and for me, and for many people, faith has to do with loss. The more you lose, loss, the loss. The stronger your faith. ”
He spoke of the tragedies endured that his family, including the assassination of his grandfather, the former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and the death of his uncles, Shahnawaz and Mir Murtaza Bhutto.
He also recalled the tragic assassination of his mother, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, in 2007, just a few weeks before she was to go to national prayer breakfast in 2008.
Bilawal also stressed the role of religion in the promotion of unity rather than division, saying: “Something that I want to tell you here today as a man of faith, as a politician, is that religion is often used to divide us.
“But the great thing about faith, of God, of all -powerful, of religion, is that it is not a force that divides us – it is a force that unites us and never leaves anyone you say the opposite. “
He also talked about the universal message of Jesus and the way in which his teachings are an integral part of Christianity and Islam.
“Jesus does not belong only to Christians. I learned Jesus of my mother, who taught me Jesus as he is in the Holy Quran and in Muslim teachings. Each Muslim, no matter what you are told, believes in Jesus, “he said.
During his visit, Bilawal also organized meetings with members of the Congress. However, as he is no longer the Minister of Foreign Affairs, all of these meetings were organized personally, he said.
The national prayer breakfast, organized by the newly elected American president Donald Trump, brought together high -ranking personalities from around the world, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who was invited to the event. The rally, held in Washington at 7 a.m., continued for almost seven hours until 2 p.m.
Bilawal arrived in the United States on Monday to attend the event. Several national prayer and faith ceremonies take place in the United States this week, featuring the participation of President Trump and Vice-President JD Vance. However, this marked the first time that Bilawal attended a ceremony organized by Trump.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Bilawal said: “I am grateful to the national breakfast of prayer, or rather to the breakfast of international prayer, to have given us the opportunity to unite our common belief in Jesus. “”
