Faisal Chaudhry, lawyer for Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), the founder Imran Khan, was briefly detained outside of Adiala prison after a stormy argument with prison staff.
According to sources, Chaudhry was detained after a confrontation with a prison officer, reported Imran Riyaz, who prevented him from entering the establishment, Express News reported.
The incident took place when Chaudhry, who had obtained prior access to visit Imran Khan, was denied entry to the gates of the prison. This led to a verbal altercation, during which Chaudhry used an offensive language for prison staff.
Consequently, the authorities of Adiala prison made the decision to hold the eminent lawyer.
Chaudhry addressed the media outside the prison, saying that the incident occurred due to a misunderstanding concerning his entry.
