- “Raja has become secretary general at the request of influential people.”
- MNA claims that merit -based decisions should be made for party positions.
Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Afzal Marwat has castigated the current party management by saying that “non-elected members manage all party affairs” and “Keep (Party Founder) Imran Khan isolated” .
Earlier this week, the founder of PTI incarcerated, Imran Khan, ordered the immediate expulsion of Marwat of the party because of his continuous violation of the discipline of the party.
The former PTI chief, speaking on Geo News “AAJ Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath program,” said Salman Akram Raja today and said: “He calls himself a de facto secretary (PTI)”.
He argued that the secretary general of the party could only be someone who was elected via intra-party polls in accordance with the constitution of the party.
Marwat said Raja had become the secretary general of the former ruling party on the recommendation of certain “influential people”. The legislator also blamed the current management of the PTI for having sidelined its “real cause” and diverted its attention to obtaining party and government positions.
His statement came in the midst of the reports of a ditch in the ranks of the PTI due to the “discord” within the political group and the party lawyers.
A group of PTI leaders of the lawyer group, during recent meetings with the founder of PTI in Adiala, filed a series of complaints against eminent leaders, in particular the former president of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Pti Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , President Junaid Akbar, KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur and Marwat. The complaints led to the eviction of PTI Marwat, added the sources.
The sources have also revealed that the leaders of the Political Circle party asked Khan to receive comments on political issues directly from them in addition to recommending that lawyers be preselect for consultations in order to reduce the risks of being wrong.
When he told him about the Raja declaration in which he moved away from the decision of the decision of the expulsion of Marwat, the politician of Brands of shooting said that the secretary general of the PTI was mental and him blamed as well as his collaborators for his eviction.
Regarding his evidence, he said he had been expelled from the party three times a year and that his business should have been the subject of an investigation properly.
The former PTI chief, speaking today on the program, also said that he would soon return to the party because he was not part of any group within the PTI and that he was faithful to Khan. He added that the former Prime Minister was wrong by people around him.
Marwat also said that his statement against hereditary policy may have offended certain people and has sworn that he would now respond to those who run from propaganda against them.
“Party affairs are not going in the right direction (…) We have moved away from practical work,” said Marwat and alleged that the current management had achieved none of its objectives on political and legal fronts.
He also said that some initiates were also working against the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur and other party leaders who had proven their loyalty to the PTI in difficult times.
“On the other hand, some people have leading positions in the party who have not had problems or police raids,” he said. He then demanded the distribution of party posts according to merit.
Two days ago, the Party based on Imran Khan published a notification concerning the expulsion of Marwat on repeated violations of the discipline of the party following the directives of the founder of the incarcerated party.
Expressing disappointment concerning his expulsion, Marwat said one day that he was not willing to meet the founder of the Imran Khan party to discuss the question after being missed.
The former party leader, who has repeatedly launched criticism against the leaders of the PTI, also said that his ouster was completely unfair because nor his position had been listened to or his firm support in difficult moments .
