The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a meteorological opinion predicting rain and snowfall in various regions of the country from February 19 to 21.

According to the department, Western winds should enter the higher areas of Pakistan, making significant weather changes, including strong winds and precipitation.

In Punjab, Lahore and several surrounding districts should experience winds and heavy rain. Areas such as Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat are also likely to receive rain, with effects propagating to other parts of the province.

The hill stations of Murriere and Galyat, as well as other mountainous regions, will witness the rain and snowfall, with the possibility that the snow extends to other regions of Punjab.

On February 19, light rains were planned in cities like Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara and Bahawalnagar, accompanied by snowfall in hilly areas.

The Director General of the Province of Catasters Management (PDMA), IRFAN Ali Kathia, urged tourists to remain cautious and to adjust their travel plans according to weather conditions.

He stressed that the PDMA control room actively monitored the 24/7 situation, and citizens are invited to avoid unnecessary trips in unfavorable weather. In an emergency, the Helpline 1129 of PDMA remains available to obtain help.

In addition to the precipitation and expected snowfall, most parts of the country should experience cold and partially cloudy weather over the next twelve hours.

However, isolated regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkh upper and northeast of Balutchistan can feel rain, wind, thunderstorm and light snowfall on the hills.

Temperatures in large cities this morning were recorded as follows: Islamabad and Muzaffarabad at 7 ° C, Lahore at 15 ° C, Karachi at 22 ° C, Peshawar and Quetta at 9 ° C, Gilgit at 4 ° C and 2 ° C.
