The security forces killed 30 terrorists in an intelligence operation (IBO) in the southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) district, the army media wing said on Tuesday. This operation follows the elimination of 15 terrorists in two separate KP operations last week.
The operation took place in the Sararogha region on Monday, following reports on the presence of Khwarij activists. Inter-service public relations (ISPR) said that the security forces actually hired the militants’ place, which resulted in the death of the 30 terrorists.
“During the conduct of the operation, his own troops actually hired the location of Khwarij, following which, thirty Khwarij were sent to hell,” added the ISPR. The army also declared that an operation of disinfection was underway in the region to erase the area of any remaining terrorist. “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of country terrorism,” concluded the ISPR.
The operation is part of Pakistan’s current efforts to fight terrorism, especially in tribal areas where militant groups have historically operated. Military operations aim to secure the region and prevent new terrorist activities.
