The security forces killed at least seven terrorists in two separate commitments in the Distra ISMAMA Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.

The army media wing said that an intelligence -based operation (IBO) had been carried out by the security forces in the Daraban General Zone on the reported presence of activists.

“During the conduct of the operation, his own troops actually hired the location of the Khwarijs (terrorists), consequently, four Khwarij were sent to hell,” he added.

During another meeting which took place in the Maddi general area, the troops actually neutralized three terrorists, according to the ISPR.

Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from terrorists, who have been actively involved in many terrorist activities in the region.

The ISPR said that disinfection operations have been launched to eliminate any other terrorist found in the region because the “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of country terrorism”.

Friday, the security forces killed at least six terrorists during an intelligence operation in the KP Karak district, the army media wing said.

The country has been in shock in increased terrorist attacks, in particular law forces and security forces since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021, in particular in the provinces bordering KP and Balutchistan .

The country experienced a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in January 2025, increasing by 42% compared to the previous month, according to data published by Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a reflection group.

The data revealed that at least 74 militant attacks were registered nationally, resulting in 91 deaths, including 35 members of security staff, 20 civilians and 36 activists. 117 other people were injured, including 53 members of the security forces, 54 civilians and 10 activists.

KP remained the most affected province, followed by Balutchistan. In KP’s established districts, activists led 27 attacks, leading to 19 deaths, including 11 security staff, six civilians and two activists.

The tribal districts of KP (old Fata) witnessed 19 attacks, resulting in 46 deaths, including 13 members of the security staff, eight civilians and 25 activists.
