The Sindh school education department has announced changes to the annual calendar of matrix and intermediary exams due to Ramadan.
According to the revised calendar, the annual exams of 9th and 10th year students will now be held from April 7 to 25, after Eid-Ul-Fitr. Meanwhile, practical exams will take place from March 10 in schools in the province, including Karachi.
Initially, matrix examinations were to start on March 15, but were reprogrammed by considering Ramadan. Likewise, intermediate examinations (1st year and 2nd year), which were initially beginning on April 15, will now start on April 28.
This decision was finalized at a meeting of the subcommittee of the steering committee. The authorities stressed that the change aims to ensure a smoother examination process during the sacred month, to accommodate students’ schedules.
The new calendar has been communicated to all relevant educational establishments, and students are invited to prepare accordingly.
Earlier, the Punjab Department of Education announced revised schedules for the province’s schools during the sacred month of Ramadan.
According to the notification issued by the department, the double -quarter -work schools will operate from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm for the first quarter of work.
The second quarter of work will take place from 1 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., while Friday, schedules will be adjusted from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The revised hours aim to welcome students and staff during Ramadan while guaranteeing smooth educational activities.
