Rawalpindi: the chief of staff of the army, General Syed Asim Munir, praised the central role of young people on Saturday in the formation of the future of Pakistan and reaffirmed the support of the army to the initiatives which empower young talents, said inter-service public relations (ISPR).

According to the army media wing, the army chief made these remarks during his interaction with students from various universities through Bahawalpur after inaugurating the CMH Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS).

The COAS stressed the army’s commitment to maintain the youth of the country. The head of the army also encouraged students to continue academic excellence with dedication and to equip themselves with the skills necessary to contribute significantly to national development.

The ISPR said that the Coas had visited the canton of Bahawalpur, where it had been informed of the operational preparation and the Bahawalpur Corps training aspects.

While addressing officers and troops, he congratulated their unshakable dedication, their high morale and their preparation for combat.

General Munnir has reiterated that rigorous training remains the cornerstone of the professional development of a soldier and must continue to be the determining attribute of the Pakistani army to overcome the challenges of modern war.

Earlier, upon arrival, the COAS was received by Commander Bahawalpur Corps.
