The security forces killed at least six terrorists in an intelligence operation (IBO) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district, the Waziristan district, public relations inter -standing (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the army media wing, the operation was carried out on the reported presence of terrorists in the general area of ​​Ghulam Khan Kalay in northern Waziristan.

“During the conduct of the operation, his own troops actually hired the place of Khwarij (terrorists), following which, six Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed terrorists, said ISPR, adding that activists have actively involved in many activities against the security forces as well as the murder of innocent civilians.

A disinfection operation was carried out to eliminate all the other terrorists found in the region, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to destroy the threat of terrorism in the country.

The country experienced a sharp increase in terrorist attacks in January 2025, increasing by 42% compared to the previous month, according to data published by Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), a reflection group.

The data revealed that at least 74 militant attacks were registered nationally, resulting in 91 deaths, including 35 members of security staff, 20 civilians and 36 activists. 117 other people were injured, including 53 members of the security forces, 54 civilians and 10 activists.

KP remained the most affected province, followed by Balutchistan. In KP’s established districts, activists led 27 attacks, leading to 19 deaths, including 11 security staff, six civilians and two activists.

The tribal districts of KP (old Fata) witnessed 19 attacks, resulting in 46 deaths, including 13 members of the security staff, eight civilians and 25 activists.

Balutchistan also experienced an increase in militant activities, with at least 24 attacks, which cost the lives of 26 lives, including 11 security staff, six civilians and nine activists.
