A Pakistani navy ship is participating in an International Defense Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates (Water) as part of efforts to strengthen maritime relations with the Gulf Nation, the media wing said on Saturday.

The Pakistani navy ship (PNS) Yarmouk arrived at water for the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defense Exhibition (NAVDEX 25), inter-service public relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Several senior officials, including the Minister of the United Arab Emirates to Tolerance and the Defense Ministers of Romania and Yemen, visited the ship.

“Participation in the Defense Exhibition reflects the solid defense ties of Pakistan with water and its active role in global maritime security initiatives,” said the ISPR.

Pakistan has intensified its naval diplomacy in recent years, in particular with the Nations of the Gulf, as part of efforts to improve maritime security and defense collaboration. The growing commitment is aligned with the wider Islamabad strategy for maintaining stability in regional waters and to secure commercial roads in the middle of evolving geopolitical dynamics.

The water event, featuring eight nations naval ships and the participation of 65 countries, follows the Pakistani accommodation for the multinational AMAN-25 fiscal year, where 60 countries participated in maritime exercises aimed at improving regional security and cooperation.

After the Aman-25, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia led the bilateral naval exercise Affaa Al Sahil, which ended in Karachi last month with a demonstration of fire power and combat tactics.

During his water visit, PNS Yarmouk also carried out joint exercises with the Navy of Water Al Emarat, strengthening the operational coordination between the two Marines.
