Dera Ismail Khan: A father committed suicide by swallowing poisoning pills after his 11 -year -old daughter was forcibly given as Vani by a village council (Panchayat) in the region of Bhagwani Shumali, within the limits of the Paharpur police station.

Vani (also known as Swara) is an illegal custom in which young girls, often miners, are married or forced to resolve disputes, especially in cases involving accusations of murder or dishonor.

Before the tragic incident, the Panchayat had also extorted RS0.7 million from the poor hairdresser, identified as Adil, the news reported. The test started when it was revealed that the nephew of Adil and the daughter of an accused, Fareed, were in contact with each other.

In response, the influential local owners would have removed Adil via Malik Inayatullah and took him to their Hujra, where a panchayat was summoned.

During the meeting, Adil would have been subjected to a brutal torture and forced to place his footprint on a stamped document, agreeing to put her 11 -year -old daughter back as Vani to settle the question. The accused also took him 0.7 million rupees.

Broken by the forced marriage of his daughter, the extortion and the inhuman treatment he suffered, Adil recorded a final audio message in which he appointed four individuals responsible for his ordeal.

He accused them, including Inayatullah and Fareed, of having committed a serious injustice by forcibly taking her daughter and extorting money from her. He pleaded for justice and urged the authorities to ensure that the culprits were punished and that his family was protected.

After recording, Adil consumed poisonous pills, ending his life. His audio message has become viral on social networks, which prompted the police.

After the incident, the police arrested two accused, including the first suspect, and launched raids to apprehend the remaining people. A case was recorded at the Paharpur police station on the complaint of the house officer (SHO).

Meanwhile, police officials said that the affected girl was given to her family. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police inspector Zulfiqar Hameed took note of the case and asked for a detailed report.

Regional police officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar led the assistant police police (ASP) Ali Hamza to ensure the rapid arrest of all those involved.

The incident triggered sorrow and indignation among the inhabitants, who require serious sanctions for those responsible.
