Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested suggestions from the business world for system reforms to improve government tax revenue, The news reported Thursday.
During a meeting with presidents of various chambers of commerce, the Prime Minister said that the achievement of economic stability was the first step and that the travel of national development had started.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister ordered all the ministries and the secretaries concerned to formulate a political action plan based on the suggestions of the Chambers of Commerce after having held consultations with them.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also noted that everyone should work together for the development of the economy, adding that the problem of the business world was an absolute priority and that the government would fully support them.
Stressing difficult economic conditions, he said that the Pakistani business community was pursuing industrial and commercial activities.
“The Government takes all possible measures to facilitate the business world. Thanks to the digitization of the Federal Bureau of Return (FBR) and other reforms, the business world is provided with facilities. The Faceless Dwellum system has considerably reduced the customs clearance times of containers in ports,” said the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, delegations welcomed the government’s economic stability measures and expressed their gratitude for their inclusion in the consultation process, said PM Office Media Wing in a press release.
The participants in the meeting said that for the first time, the government demonstrated the severity of the problem of the business world. The inclusion of the business world in the consultation process, in particular in budgetary discussions, was a positive step for which they were grateful to the Prime Minister, they also said.
