
In a positive development in the midst of increasing political temperatures in the country, the Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif announced Thursday that the power alliance was ready to invite Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) to the conference in all parties on terrorism.
Earlier in the day, addressing a press conference in Quetta, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged all political forces to sit together to design a strategy to eradicate the threat of terrorism and bring economic stability to the country.
Stressing the need for national unity to face terrorism, the Prime Minister announced a meeting of all political stakeholders after the consultation.
The Prime Minister has reached quetta today to express his solidarity with people and examine the situation of the law and order after the consequences of the mortal diversion incident of Jaffar Express.
During the operation, the security forces eliminated the 33 terrorists of the Balutchistan Liberation Army (Bla) who had diverted the train. Nearly 21 passengers and four FC staff were also martyred in the hands of the terrorist.
Speaking on the Geo News program “AAJ Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Saath”, the Minister of Defense said: “We are ready to invite PTI to the APC, but they (PTI) should also attend the unconditionally meeting.”
It is relevant to mention here that the former ruling party has not attended a multi -party conference convened by the ruling coalition against Israeli atrocities in Gaza in October from last year.
Answering a question, the Minister said PML-N and PPP had never placed conditions for meetings on questions related to national interest.
