Islamabad:
The JUI-F, the largest religious party in the county, will convene a meeting of its Majlis-E-Amomi-General Council-to discuss the launch of a movement against the government of Coalition PML-N outgoing after Eidul Fitr.
The Council will also decide a proposal to associate with an alliance of the opposition parties DIY mainly by the PTI of Imran Khan.
Speaking of journalists from the federal capital on Sunday, the head of Jui-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the country faces an existential crisis and that the government was unconscious while its party despite the opposition is disconcerted.
“The Prime Minister throws Iftar parties. Why can’t he discuss national questions?” He asked.
The head of Jui-F described the parliament in place and the government as puppets. He said the President, the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior are not eligible to occupy their respective positions because they have not won these positions by winning elections.
Fazl noted that President Asif Ali Zardari has fun, adding that Zardari is the only politician to “buy” provincial assemblies and the president’s position.
JUI-F is one of the political parties, including the PTI, which claim that the general elections of last year were very fake and that the existing parliament does not represent the will of the people.
The head of Jui-F said that the president of the PML-N Nawaz Sharif could play an important role in national policy. However, he said, the former Prime Minister probably was content to obtain the government of Punjab, the political power of the country.
“Is it enough for Punjab to benefit from peace while two provinces (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balutchistan) are left (at the mercy of activism)?” He asked. “When we launch a movement, they will complain and ask us to think about (well-being of) country,” he added.
In response to a question concerning the possible alliance of the JUI-F with the PTI, the Maulana said that the real PTI leadership was in prison while the existing leadership lacks unity.
However, he recognized that acrimony between the two parties had reduced and that any unfavorable declaration on each side will not affect their possible cooperation. He said the PTI should notice if one of his leaders made a statement against him.
Regarding Pakistan’s help in the arrest of the suspect involved in the August 2022 Kabul airport attack, the Maulana said that Pakistan “had offered a sacrificial goat” in the United States, which liked President Donald Trump and the government began to celebrate.
He said the government was expecting an opportunity to present a “goat” to Trump, adding that even if the opposition was satisfied with the arrival of Trump, the government was afraid.
He said national sovereignty had been ignored during this exchange. “It could have been an opportunity to negotiate the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, but instead, silence has prevailed. Tomorrow, to protect their illegitimate rule, they can sacrifice any of us (in the United States) in the same way,” he added.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman deplored that the establishment directed the country. “They wonder how politicians can govern the country-for the love of God, withdraw; politicians can direct the country better than you. Pakistan does not belong alone to the army; it belongs to everyone,” he added.
He asked why dialogue is possible with Iran and India, but not with Afghanistan. He said that if the state asked, the JUI-F could consider playing a role in resolving the question of Afghanistan.
