
Islamabad: Islamabad traffic police issued a route plan for intense circulation in relation to Pakistan Day on March 23.
A parade of the armed forces will be held in the federal capital on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
According to the police, the entry of all types of heavy vehicles in Islamabad will be prohibited from midnight on March 22 at 3 p.m. on March 23.
In addition, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Srinagar motorway will remain closed for the incoming and leaving traffic from the seventh avenue in Kudiyanwala Chowk on Sunday.
Traffic police advised vehicles heading to Bhara Kahu to use alternative routes, including the seventh avenue via Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Cachemire Chowk and Club Road. They also warned that traffic disturbances can occur on the Srinagar road and the highway due to road changes.
Intense traffic travel from Peshawar to Lahore was invited to use Taxila Highway and the Fateh Jang highway via Tarnol Phatak. Heavy vehicles traveling from Lahore GT Road to Islamabad and Rawalpindi should use Chak Beli Road and Chakri.
In addition, travelers using GT Road from Peshawar to Rawat were invited to use Taxila Worseway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road and Rawat. Likewise, those who travel from Lahore GT Road to Peshawar should use Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri and Taxila Highway.
Islamabad traffic director (CTO) Zeeshan Haider said that the capital’s traffic staff will be deployed at various points to guide citizens.
He urged shuttle to contact the ITP assistance line at 1915 for any help during the trip and connect to FM 92.4 for real -time traffic updates.
ITP’s social media platforms will keep citizens aware of real-time traffic routes, he added.
Pakistan Day
The day marks the adoption of the historic resolution of Lahore that day in 1940 which provided a framework for the achievement of the objective of a distinct homeland for the Muslims of South Asia.
The day rises with a salvation of 31 guns in the federal capital and a greeting of 21 guns in the provincial capitals.
Special prayers are offered to mosques after dawn prayers for the country’s prosperity and solidarity. The national flag is hoisted on the main government buildings.
The change in guard ceremonies takes place at the Quaid-Ezam Mohammad Ali Jinnah mausoleums in Karachi and Dr Mohammad Iqbal in Lahore.
