
Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Natalie Baker, American business and ambassador to Pakistan, who called him on Friday.
The meeting focused on questions of mutual interest, including the ways to improve economic cooperation and increase American investments in the priority sectors of Pakistan, according to a press release published by the Ministry of Finance.
During the discussion, the Minister of Finance informed Baker of the government’s macroeconomic reform program, in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for structural reforms and economic growth led by export.
He underlined the main initiatives to improve economic efficiency and guarantee sustainable and inclusive growth, in particular privatization, tax reforms, restructuring of the energy sector and the rights of the federal government.
Baker congratulated the economic progress of Pakistan and his commitment to implement the necessary but difficult structural reforms.
It has recognized the country’s resilience and the measures taken to strengthen the basics of long -term economic stability.
It reiterated the commitment of the American administration to promote a strong bilateral relationship with Pakistan, with a particular emphasis on the deepening of economic cooperation and the expansion of investment opportunities.
The two parties have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen economic ties and to explore new areas of collaboration to advance shared economic objectives.
