Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) unveiled a new toll structure for national highways and highways, which should take effect on April 1 on Monday.

Under the new toll rate, car costs on national highways will be RS70, while Vans will be invoiced RS150 and RS250 bus. The two and three axles trucks will pay an RS300 toll, and the larger trucks will be billed RS550 from next month, will read a notification issued by the NHA.

This new rate applies to several major highways, including M1, M3, M4, M5, M14 and E35. The car toll on the M1 Islamabad-Peshawar motorway went from RS500 to RS550, while the M3 Lahore-Abdul Hakeem motorway now invoices RS800 instead of RS700.

Similarly, the toll for cars on the M4 Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad-Multan motorway went from RS950 to RS1,050, while the M5 Multan-Sukkur motorway now invoices RS1,200, against RS1,100.

On the M14 motorway Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla, the car toll went from RS600 to Rs650. Meanwhile, the E35 Hasan Abdal-Havelian-Mansehra route is now RS300 for cars, against 250 previous rupees. For larger vehicles, toll rates on these highways now vary from RS850 to Rs 5,750.
