The funeral prayer for the chief of staff of the army (COAS), the mother of General Asim Munnir, was proposed on Tuesday on the race field in Rawalpindi. The head of the army himself led the funeral prayer.
High leaders and political leaders, notably President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President of PML-N in power Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Balutchistan, Sarfraz Bugti, and the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi, among others, attended the prayer of finances.
In addition, the president of the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, the president of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, the senior military officials, the former general of army leaders (RETD) Qamar Javed Bajwa, the general (RETD) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and other notables also offered the prayer in finance.
Earlier, President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed deep sadness, offering prayers to the missing soul and support for the bereaved family.
President Zardari in his message of condolences said that he also shared the sorrow of General Munnir and his family.
The Minister of the Interior, Naqvi, also transmitted his condolences, praying for the high rank of the deceased in the afterlife and patience for the bereaved family.
The Prime Minister’s advisor to political affairs Rana Sanaullah expressed deep sadness, praying for divine mercy on the missing soul and patience for the bereaved family.
