Karachi: The head of the Baloch Yakjehti committee (BYC), Sammi Deen Baloch, challenged his 30 -day detention before the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday, one day after being apprehended during a demonstration against the arrest of the management of the Movement in Balochistan.

A bench of two members will hear the petition tomorrow, according to the petitioner council.

Karachi police, one day earlier, apprehended Sammi and several others for having violated article 144, using strength to disperse their demonstration while the byc continued with his protest.

However, as soon as a judicial magistrate ordered his release, the police tried to rearchle her, leading to the resistance of the lawyers present in the court. Shortly after, they arrested the Baloutche chief of the court premises and transferred it to prison for 30 days under the maintenance of public order (MPO).

According to the Sindh House service, the decision was made on the recommendation of the Inspector General (IG) Sindh, citing security problems.

The officials allegedly alleged that Sammi, with Abdul Wahab Baloch, Raza Ali and others, encouraged blockages and road sites, which could disrupt the law and order in the city.

The ministry also declared that the presence of individuals detained in public places represented a potential threat to peace and stability.

According to Sammi’s lawyer Jibran Nasir, the police tried to hold it under the MPO order. “The scientist judicial magistrate was released the five accused in the FIR recorded yesterday,” wrote Jibran in an article on X.

“As soon as the accused was released and condemned to release, the police began to agitate the order of the MPO. While Sammi went and deliberately offered his arrest, where there are four others, Lala Wahab, Raziq, Sultan and Shahdad, are unknown,” he added.

It should be noted that the BYC had announced a demonstration at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the “illegal detention” of its main leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch.

Mahrang was arrested on Saturday, as well as 16 other activists from their protest camp in Quetta, one day after alleging the police to beat three of their demonstrators to death during an anti-moving action.
