President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif granted their sincere greetings to the nation on the eve of the AID UL FITR. In their messages, they highlighted the importance of gratitude, brotherhood and compassion, urging people to remember those who face economic difficulties.
President Zardari stressed the importance of Zakat, the charity and Fitrana, stressing that real happiness comes from sharing with the least lucky. He reminded the nation that Eid is a reward after a month of patience and devotion to Ramadan.
“EID teaches us unity and solidarity. We must strengthen these links and contribute to the progress of Pakistan,” he said, adding prayers for the inhabitants of Jammu-et-Cachemire occupied by the Indians to celebrate Eid in peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his message underlined the challenges that Pakistan is faced with internal and external threats. He called on national unity to counter extremism, hatred and sectarianism, guaranteeing the stability and security of the country.
He praised the sacrifices of the armed forces in the fight against terrorism and prolonged solidarity to the families of the martyrs, including those affected by the Jaffar Express train incident.
Shehbaz has also reaffirmed the unwavering support of Pakistan to the inhabitants of Palestine and Kashmir, urging the international community to act against human rights violations.
While Pakistan celebrates Eid, the two leaders urged citizens to embrace the Spirit of the occasion by promoting love, unity and compassion.
