The former president, publisher and former editor-in-chief of Jang Media Group, Akhbar-E-Jahan Mir Javed Ur Rahman, the fifth anniversary of death is observed on Monday (today) throughout the country with respect and solemnity.

Mir Javed, faithful of journalism in the country and eldest son of Mir Khalil Ur Rahman – an enigma of a man and one of the greatest pioneers of journalism in Ourdou – was born on August 16, 1946. He died in Karachi on March 31, 2020 after a battle with lung cancer.

With a journalistic career covering more than half a century, the dynamic and visionary leader continued his father’s inheritance with dedication and integrity.

“Under his direction and advice, Jang Media Group has become the most credible organization in the country, including groups such as Daily Jang, The News, Daily Awam, Daily Inqilab, Geo TV Network, Akhbar-E-Jahan and The Fashion Magazine Mag The Weekly.”

Throughout his career, Mir Jave supported the principles of journalism and firmly against external pressure, ensuring that his media group maintained his position on freedom of expression.

Being an active member of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), where he was president, vice-president and secretary, Mir Javed also supported the country’s printed media community.
