
After a gap of more than four years, Pakistan Railways (PR) announced on Saturday the restoration of the Khushhal Khan Khattak Express at the end of this month.
Railway managers said the passenger train, which led a profitable route on the main line II, had been suspended in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They added that the train connects several major cities from Karachi to Peshawar.
Earlier, Pakistan railways had restored the Shah Hussain Express between Karachi Cantt and Lahore in February to facilitate passengers.
The traveler’s train extends from Karachi to Lahore, making stops in Hyderabad, Rohri, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal and Faisalabad.
In addition to restoring trains on profitable roads, the Pakistani railways also had to launch a high -speed express train between Lahore and Karachi, similar to the Green Line Express which operates between Islamabad and Karachi via Lahore, it appeared in December of last year.
“The main objective of this new train service is to provide passengers with advanced equipment and improved travel experience,” said an official of the Ministry of Railways.
The manager stressed that Pakistan railways focus on improving passenger services and the use of new technologies to locally produce coaches, which will eliminate the need for imports.
In addition, he said that the ministry was trying to improve the quality of food and cleanliness to ensure a comfortable and unique environment for passengers.
