Islamabad police have completed their security arrangements for the teams participating in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X.

The measures were finalized following an inspection of key points and team housing by SSP Security, Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk.

Virk, acting on IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi’s police orders, said the use of advanced technology to ensure players and gentle driving in Rawalpindi.

The season’s opening match will take place on Friday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars, from 8:30 p.m.

The police have undertaken to deploy all the resources available to guarantee infallible security during the tournament.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Monday 13 referees and seven match referees to officer the 30 opening games of the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), which begins on April 11.

The panel officiating for PSL 10 includes three members of the Elite ICC of the referees – Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel and Kumar Dharmasena. They are joined by Aleem Dar, Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Khan Aafreedi and Rashid Riaz Waqar of the International Panel of Arboles.

Four referees of the PCB Elite Panel – Abdul Moqeet, Nasir Hussain, Tariq Rasheed and Zulfiqar Jan – Complete the list.

The PCB also announced a panel of seven-members match referees led by the referee of the Panel ICC Ranjan Madugalle and his Sri Lankan colleague Roshan Mahanama. They will work alongside Ali Naqvi, Muhammad Javed Malik, Iftikhar Ahmed, Iqbal Sheikh and Nadeem Arshad.

Managers of the last four games – the qualifier, two eliminators and the final – will be appointed later.

The tournament’s opening match on April 11 will see reigning champions Islamabad United Take Lahore Qalandars at the Cricket Stadium Rawalpindi. The six team event includes 34 games played on Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi and Multan to the final on May 18.

Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium will host 13 games, including the playoffs and the final. Rawalpindi will organize 11 games, including the qualifier on May 13. Karachi and Multan will host five games each.

Three double heads are scheduled during the competition, two on Saturdays and one on the day of work, on May 1.
