
London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in London Friday evening in Bélarus for a brief two-day visit and the leader of the PML-N and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will reach London on Saturday for a two-week tour.
The Prime Minister landed at Luton airport late in the evening and should stay in the city this weekend. He will then return to Pakistan on Sunday evening to attend the Pakistani convention abroad in Islamabad. It was received at the airport by the leaders of the United Kingdom PML-N Ahsan Dar, Rashid Hashmi and Khurram Butt.
PML-N sources said the Prime Minister was going for medical examinations on Saturday and that two meetings are planning on Sunday. He has undergone health assessments in London for many years.
The PM will meet his older brother Nawaz at the Avenfield Flats before leaving for Pakistan.
On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Belarus had extended a “generous offer” to invite more than 150,000 young Pakistani workers highly qualified to contribute to the strengthening of the nation in the nation of Eastern Europe.
The Prime Minister – with Nawaz and the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz – was on an official visit to Bélarus at the invitation of President Lukashenko.
This visit followed the latter’s visit to Pakistan in November 2024, during which the two nations signed more than a dozen important memoranda of understanding (soft) and agreements, with promises of promises to further extend bilateral cooperation in various fields.
