The Christian community celebrates Easter today with great religious zeal, devotion and reverence.
To ensure security, security personnel were deployed in all the country’s churches, where the doors and video surveillance cameras have been installed. Easter worship services should take place between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif granted sincere greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and in the world during Easter, recognizing their role in national development and calling for unity and harmony through confessions.
In his message, President Zardari said Easter is a period of hope, renewal and celebration of life. “This reminds us of compassion, sacrifice and forgiveness. The Christian community has always played an essential role in the development of Pakistan. We deeply recognize their contributions in education, health care, social well-being and the public service, “he said.
Zardari reiterated that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of minorities and confirmed the government’s continuous commitment to their election and their empowerment.
“We are proud of their dedication to peace, harmony and coexistence in society,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his warmest wishes to the Christian community, stressing the importance of Easter as a symbol of faith and renewal.
“Easter reminds us of the sustainable power of faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose message of compassion and love continues to inspire humanity,” he said.
The Prime Minister praised the Christian community for its historical contributions to the formation of Pakistan and its continuous role in the country’s socio-economic progress.
He expressed hope that Christians would remain active participants to shape an inclusive and united Pakistan.
The Sindh -Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also congratulated Christians for Easter, saying: “Easter teaches mutual respect and love. Christian citizens have played a key role in the development of Pakistan. We respect all minorities and believe that love and harmony lead to national progress. ”
