The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted on Wednesday that the first heat wave in May will begin today and prevail for the next three to four days.

He predicted that high pressure is likely to grasp most of the country’s parts in the 15th.

Under the influence of this weather condition, the temperatures of the day should remain from 4 ° C to 6 ° C above normal in the southern half (Sindh, South of Punjab and Balutchistan) from May 15 to 20.

In addition, the temperatures of the day should remain from 5 ° C to 7 ° C above normal in the upper half (central and higher punjab, Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Cashmire, Gilgit-Baltistan) from 15 to 19th.

The meteorological service has also said that a west meteorological system should enter the country’s upper parts on May 19 evening or night.

The system is expected to bring a rain, a thunderstorm (heavy isolated / hail) in cashmere, Islamabad, Potehohar, including northeast Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan from May 19 to 20.

Precautions during heat waves

  • The general public, in particular children, women and the elderly, were invited to take precautionary measures due to heat waves in the country.
