Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Thursday that the perception of India’s superiority in the conventional war turned out to be wrong by Pakistan during the recent war between the two nuclear powers in South Asia.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a ceremony for distributing remuneration vouchers between the families of martyrs in the recent Marka-E-Haq-the recent Pakistani-Indian war-in Muzaffarabad.
A war broke out between Pakistan with nuclear arms and India, and that could have taken a dangerous turn, he added. “The consequences of the war could have been disastrous,” said Prime Minister.
Calling the “regrettable” Pahalgam incident, the Prime Minister reiterated that New Delhi had made baseless allegations against Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the government had convinced the international community that India’s allegations were based on lies and that Pahalgam incident was part of the conspiracy of India.
He argued that Pakistan proposed an international impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident, but India ignored the offer and attacked Pakistan.
Shehbaz added that the armed forces of Pakistan gave an appropriate response to Indian assault and have shot down six IAF fighter planes instead of targeting the civilian population.
“A measured response was given to India while exercising the right to self -defense,” added the Prime Minister.
“The Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would now think a hundred times before attacking Pakistan again.”
It is relevant to mention here that the armed forces of Pakistan have launched a large-scale military reprisal action, called “the Bunyan-UM-Marsos operation”, and targets several Indian military installations in several regions in response to the strikes not caused in the night between May 6 and 7.
The strikes, described by managers as “precise and proportionate”, were carried out in response to the continuous aggression of India through the control line (LOC) and in the territory of Pakistan, which said New Delhi was targeting the “terrorist targets”.
Pakistan has shot down six fighter planes, including three bursts and dozens of drones. After about 86 hours, the war between the two nuclear countries ended on May 10 with a cease-fire agreement negotiated by the United States.
The military confrontation between the two countries was launched by the attack last month in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk), was the subject of 26 tourists, accusing Pakistan for the attack without offering.
Compensation package for war victims
Prime Minister Shehbaz also announced a remuneration for civilians and soldiers affected during the recent war with India.
As part of the compensation package, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the heirs of each martyred civilian would be awarded 10 million rupees, while the injured would obtain RS1 to Rs2 million each.
The heirs of the members of the martyred armed forces would receive 10m RS18m according to their ranks, he said, adding that up to Rs42m would be given to families for housing.
“The families of the martyrs will receive the full salary until the soldier’s retirement date, a free education for children thanks to the graduation and an RS1M wedding subsidy for a girl. Each wounded staff would receive between RS2 and 5 million rupees,” added the first.
