Islamabad: No more rain with thunderstorms and a hail are expected to be several parts of the country today (Sunday), one day after a massive storm struck the punjab and the adjacent areas.

On Sunday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department published a weather forecast on Sunday, claiming that there is a possibility of thunderstorms and precipitation in Islamabad, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the Pory region and certain areas of Punjab and Ballochistan. Strong precipitation or hailstorms can also occur in isolated places.

The Met Office also indicated that Jacobabad had recorded the highest temperature in the country in the last 24 hours to 50 degrees Celsius, followed from 49 ° C to Sibi.

Other high temperatures included 47 ° C in Dadu, Mohenjo Daro, Rohri, Larkana and Nawabshah; 46 ° C in Sukkur; 45 ° C in Hyderabad; 44 ° C in Multan; 41 ° C in Lahore and Faisalabad; 38 ° C in Quetta and Peshawar; 37 ° C in Karachi; 36 ° C in Gilgit; 35 ° C in Islamabad; and 33 ° C in Muzaffarabad.

One day earlier, at least 14 people lost their lives and 51 were injured in rain -related incidents while dust storms and thunderstorms struck various cities in Punjab.

Strong winds and strong precipitation caused damage in the federal capital, with the hail also reported. The water entered the houses in Abpara and the water level increased in Nala Lai, which prompted the authorities to impose a rain emergency in Rawalpindi.

In Lahore, a storm of dust followed by rain has resulted in generalized power outages. Chakwal also faced disturbances while the storm forced the authorities to close a section of the M-2 motorway near Kallar Kahar for several hours. Rescue officials assigned the victims to collapse of dilapidated structures and other accidents related to storms. The Provincial Authority for Disaster Management (PDMA) said that compensation would be provided to affected families in accordance with Punjab government policy.

In KP, similar conditions have been reported. A dust storm struck Peshawar, while the rain was recorded in Malakand, Abbottabad, Mardan, Charsadda and Mansehra. In Swat, the floods have entered houses and shops, and hailstorms damaged crops and orchards.

At the AJK, the rain affected several areas, including Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad. The floods led to the closure of Sharea Neelum in Badiyan Seri.
