PM arrives in Dushanbe for conferences, glacier conference Blogging Sole

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tajikistan for an official two -day visit to improve bilateral relations and meet regional and environmental challenges. The visit, announced by the Prime Minister’s office, points out the renewal of diplomatic awareness of Islamabad in Central Asia.

When he arrived at Dushanbe airport on Thursday, the Prime Minister was warmly received by his counterpart Tadjik, Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, as well as other high-ranking Tadjik officials, including the vice-minister of foreign affairs Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin.

The reception also included the Tajikistan ambassador to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, and the Pakistan ambassador to Tadjikistan, Muhammad Saeed Sarwar. He is accompanied by the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and a special assistant by Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.

At the center of the visit to the first first Shari, there are high -level talks planned with President Tadjik Emomali Rahmon. Discussions should cover a wide range of sectors, including trade, energy, regional connectivity and security cooperation.

The PM is also likely to recognize firm support from Tajikistan in Pakistan in the midst of recent regional tensions, especially in the context of the strains in progress between Islamabad and New Delhi. He will also participate in a global conference on the preservation of glaciers organized in Dushanbe.

In his speech, he should highlight the catastrophic effects of climate change on Pakistan – in particular in the Himalayas and Karakoram regions – and defend an urgent international collaboration on environmental protection. It will reaffirm “the unwavering commitment” of Pakistan to preserve glaciers, a critical question for the future water safety and the ecological stability of the country.

This visit not only reflects Islamabad’s strategic emphasis on Central Asia, but also its desire to play a leading role in climate diplomacy.
