The PGA Tour ending its time with Jack Nicklaus this week while Muirfield Village welcomes the start of the golf summer calendar with the 2025 commemorative tournament. By moving its seventh signature event up to two weeks before the United States Open, the PGA Tour pushed the memorial in May in the hope of having less time conflicts for players.
While most of the best players in the PGA Tour were on site, Rory McILroy has chosen not to play this week. Rather, he will do it at the RBC Canadian Open next week as his US Open update – To Nicklaus’s surprise more than anyone.
With McILroy absent, the champion reigning Scottie Scheffler entered as a big favorite to Betmgm With Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele on the second row on the dimension sheet. Upon entering the final round of Sunday, Scheffler remains at the top of the coast board after having taken the lead of 54 holes with 36-hole co-leaders Ben Griffin and Nick Taylor just behind him. Keegan Bradley and Jordan Spieth are among the names in the five Scheffler shots, although it will take a lot to sink player No. 1 in the world in terms of his last 18 holes.
