- FO’s spokesperson says that the cashmere dispute remains basic.
- “India cannot achieve its objectives through threats.”
Pakistan has condemned the recent antagonistic remarks made by Indian management, including those pronounced in Bihar, describing them as reflecting a deeply “disturbing” state of mind which favors hostility on peace.
“The recent remarks of the Indian management, including those made to the Bihar, reflect a deeply disturbing state of mind that prioritizes hostility on peace,” said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan while responding to media requests.
He said that any attempt to portray Pakistan as a source of regional instability is divorced from reality. He said the international community is well aware of the Aggressive behavior record in India, including documented support for terrorist activities in Pakistan. These facts cannot be masked by hollow stories or diversion tactics, he added.
Addressing a rally in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi threatened Pakistan on Friday that Operation Sindoor was “only an arrow” in the “quiver” of India and stressed that the war against terrorism is neither finished nor stop.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesman, Randir Jaiswal, blamed Pakistan last week for having perpetuated terrorism in India. In response to a question during the weekly press briefing, the Indian Spox reiterated the position of the PM Moda according to which terrorism and dialogue cannot go hand in hand.
Jaiswal has also rejected the holding of negotiations on the resolution of the cashmere conflict between neighboring countries, saying: “I would like to emphasize that any bilateral discussion on Jammu-et-Cachemire will only be in vacation” of the territory disputed by Pakistan.
On the other hand, the Pakistani spokesman said that the cashmere dispute was the central issue threatening peace and stability in the region. He declared that Pakistan would continue to remain firm to defend a fair and lasting resolution in the conflict of cashmere in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmir people.
“To chat this fundamental question is to condemn the region to a continuous mistrust and to a potential confrontation,” he added.
Shafqat has said that developments in recent weeks have once again highlighted the total futility of Jingoiseme and coercion. India cannot and will not reach its objectives through threats, false declarations or strength, he added.
The FO spokesman said Pakistan remained attached to peace and constructive commitment, but it is also resolved to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression.
He said that sustainable peace in South Asia demands maturity, restraint and the desire to combat the deep causes of the conflict, not the pursuit of close political gains at the expense of regional harmony.
Earlier, from May 6 to 10, the armed forces of Pakistan and India fought against each other. The conflict was launched by New Delhi after an attack in India illegally occupied the Jammu and the cashmere pahalgam on April 22, where armed men killed 26 civilians. India has described this an act of terrorism orchestrated by Pakistan, a complaint rejected by the leaders of Islamabad.
