THE New York Yankees could be without their upper lifter for more than a month. Right Luke Weaver Tandoned his hamstrings while warming up for the ninth round of Sunday victory on the Dodgers of Los Angeles (Ny 7, the 3) and could miss 4-6 weeks, ESPN reports. The Yankees had one day of rest on Monday and did not confirm the injury or announced a move of the alignment.
“He felt something when he had finished warming up, then when he went to stretch, he felt something in the middle of his Hammy,” said Yankees manager Aaron Boone after Sunday’s match (via mlb.com). “So we had to make a change on the fly there. We hope it is not too serious.”
Weaver, 31, moved to the enclosure of full -time lifts last year and was the best New York lift in the last two seasons. He replaced Clay Holmes at the end of last year and in the playoffs, and replaced the difficulty Devin Williams as closer last month. Weaver has an MPM of 1.05 and 0.70 whip in 25 2/3 rounds this year. He withdrew 24 strikers.
Boone is likely to come back Williams in the role more closely during the absence of Weaver, at least at the start. Williams closed a match against the Angels of Los Angeles Last week, when Weaver was not available because of his recent workload, and he has a 3.29 MPM in 13 2/3 innings since he left the ninth round a few weeks ago.
Yankees should become right -handed Fernando Cruz Back from the injured list on Tuesday, so he is to enter the place of the Weaver list. Cruz was a revelation this year, appearing at an MPM of 2.66 with 35 stick withdrawals in 23 2/3 rounds. Boone’s enclosure will look like this without weaver:
The New York lift enclosure is in the top 10 in victory probably added and wins above the replacement this year despite the difficulties and injuries at the start of the season of Williams in Cruz and Laáisiga. It was a solid unit overall, although Weaver was their most constant arm and Boone’s most reliable lifter, and these guys are difficult to replace. Yankees will have to get out of it for about a month.
Sunday’s victory avoided a three-game scan in Los Angeles and improved the Yankees at 36-22. They have a six -game lead in the loss column in the Al East. The Yankees will welcome the Cleveland goalkeepers At Yankee Stadium for a series of three games from Tuesday evening.
