The Federal Minister of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Malik, said that India manipulated the flow of the Industry river system by “holding and releasing, held and flooding” to disturb the models of cultures in Pakistan and food security.

In an interview Bloomberg In London on Monday, Malik noted that “when the water was necessary for harvesting sowing, it was not available” during the last month.

“It is a question of disturbing the schemes of cultures and food security in Pakistan,” he said, adding that the government has not yet been estimated by damage caused by cultures.

The Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi unilaterally suspended the Industry Water Treaty in the aftermath of the Pahalgame attack in India, it illegally occupied Jammu-et-Cachemire (IIOJK) on April 22.

At the beginning of May, while tensions intensified between the neighbors, the water flow from the Chenab river was reduced to almost 90% below the usual volume which passes in Pakistan, according to Muhammad Khalid Idrees Rana, spokesperson for the Indus River System in Pakistan.

The time of India had pointed out that India had rinsed and moved the tanks in the hydroelectric projects of Baglihar and Salal on the Chenab, which can disrupt normal flows and plan other maintenance measures during the suspension of the treaty.

“Because they have no storage dams, they were unable to affect us materially,” said Malik. “If they are starting to build the storage dams, he would be considered an act of war,” he said, reiterating the opinions of the administration.

Malik said Pakistan had responded to India’s requests in the past year to renegotiate the Treaty, because the two countries in water scorce are faced with the growing pressure of climate change and demographic growth.

However, he added, India did not specify the clauses he wanted to discuss.

Speaking on the military clashes last month between Pakistan and India, the Minister said that the administration of Donald Trump as well as the group of other countries, notably the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates played a decisive role in provoking the cease-fire ”.

Malik is part of the delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto responsible for presenting Pakistan’s perspective on the recent conflict with India in the world and to counter the false story of New Delhi.

The delegation is currently in London after visiting the United States and will also go to Brussels.
