Islamabad: The federal government has enabled retirees to receive their pensions while being re -employed, as long as their salary is less than an amount equal to their total pension, said The news.
This decision brought a relief to thousands of retirees re -employed in 36 departments, including the president’s secretariat, the Prime Minister’s secretariat, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Senate Sector, the National Assembly Secretariat, the Pakistan Electoral Commission and several others.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance had asked the re-employed workforce to obtain a salary or a pension and prohibited them from obtaining both simultaneously. It has been sent to the regulatory wing of the Ministry of Finance that the state of choice between salary and pension in the event of re-use will cause difficulties for different bodies to retain their workforce.
For example, in the case of regulatory organizations, the government had to hire a specialized workforce and in the case of hiring the private sector, it would be difficult to find people who have no acquired interest.
This prevented the re -employing from continuing to work in their organizations. Keeping in view of various representations, the Ministry of Finance developed a solution according to which during the period of re -use, the amount of the salary will be provided after deducting an equivalent amount of the gross pension.
