The development intervened after three minor boys were kidnapped in a week in the country’s financial center, forcing the Sindh -chief Minister to order the police to take practical measures for their immediate recovery.
Mohammed Sarim, seven, was reportedly kidnapped on January 7 from the North Karachi 5 sector within the limits of the Bilal colony police station.
However, the suspect’s body was later recovered in an underground water reservoir from his building with the post-mortem examination confirming that the minor boy had been raped before being strangled to death.
Sarim’s kidnapping was followed by another disturbing incident with two other children – Aliyan, five, and Ali Raza, six years old – disappearing by playing outside their house in the town of the city garden.
A FIR was recorded on the complaint of mother Aliyan Zainab, wife of Younis who informed the police that she worked in a gymnasium and found her son disappeared on her return home.
Video surveillance images have revealed two suspects, a man and a woman, taking the children to Lyari on a motorcycle. However, the poor quality of the images has hampered clear identification.
A committee of five members led by SSP City Arif Aziz has been trained to speed up the survey. The efforts included the geofencing of the area and the realization of several research operations in Garden and Lyari. Despite these measures, no significant piss has yet appeared.
